After another Reid score to make it 47-36, USF made one final push at the Cards and narrowed the margin to 49-43 when Jenetta McDonald capitalized on an old-fashioned 3 point play. The Lady Cards rallied back with a 9-2 run, beginning with a Tia Gibbs 3 and led 58-45 after Reid scored again inside with a little less than seven minutes remaining in the game. Smith got the Bulls within nine late..but Schimmel pushed the final margin to eleven at 66-55 with under a minute to go. USF chose not to foul or press the rest of the way and Louisville did not force the offense.

Today was Jim Kelch's final road broadcast of the season. Matt Andrews will cover the final Cardinal road game of the year at Providence...as Kelch heads off to do spring baseball broadcasts for the Cincinnati Reds after the DePaul game in the KFC YUM Center on Wednesday . Hopefully, the affable play-by-play guy will return to the microphone next year...

You knew a Dee Kanter officiating crew would slow this one down with their whistles and they did...one USF player fouled out, three had 4 each and Hines got whistled for four personals.
WE'LL look at some more numbers and have comments from head coach Jeff Walz tomorrow in the Sunday edition of CARDINAL COUPLE.
