The University of Louisville's women's basketball and field hockey teams will take to their respective courts and fields on Saturday.
.
For the Jeff Walz led Lady Cardinals, it is an exhibition game against Indiana Wesleyan at 4:30 p.m. in the KFC YUM! Center. Although Walz has not named a starting lineup yet, he gave some indicators on who he had been pleased with when he addressed the media on media day.
Although Paul and Sonja are much better at predicting trends and doing analysis work of the Lady Cardinals, I would surmise that Burke, Schimmel, Reid, Hines and Taylor might take the court for the opening tipoff. Walz has praised the efforts of Tay, Gibbs, Dyer and Slaughter recently, though, so any of these four in there starting wouldn't come as much of a surprise.
You can find out for yourself by showing up. Tickets are still available and I picked up two really nice ones for $5 each. PAUL HAS A FEW TICKETS AVAILABLE BEHIND THE WOMEN'S BENCH that he is trying to distribute for friends that are up in Pittsburgh for the football game. You can e-mail him at cardinalcouple@insightbb.com if you would like them or leave a comment here in the comments section. He'll get back with you tonight or early tomorrow.
PAM BUSTIN takes the 13-5 Louisville field hockey team to Maryland for their regular season finale against #1 Terrapins. Louisville is on a four game winning streak but will have their work cut out for them against the 16-1 Maryland team. Maryland has only lost to #3 Virginia.
Game time is noon.
Best of luck to both UofL women's teams in action on Saturday. Let's hope the UofL football team can pull out a win in Pittsburgh on Saturday also!
I spoke to Paul just a few minutes ago via phone and they are on their way back from Gatlinburg and will be in Louisville this evening. He sounded great, well rested and says he has many photos to share and a great story about Sonja and sis Anne running into a BEAR while on a hike. Looking forward to seeing both you and Sonja at the women's game tomorrow.
